About Alicia Sharpe

I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada where I lived until age 26, when I then took the leap and moved to China to continue my teaching career. I taught English literature and language at Canadian International schools for a few years in China, Malaysia and London, then back to China again! I met my lovely husband out there and we decided to move back to the UK as he is originally from here.

During the pandemic, I decided to leave teaching and started my own travel company, which I absolutely love! Being a business owner is the most difficult yet satisfying career I can imagine.

My hobbies in include travelling (of course!) I have been to 70 countries...and will always desire to see more. I also enjoy kickboxing, hiking, tennis and reading. I am a proud auntie to numerous nieces and nephews. My favourite food is anything spicy!

What is your vision for your business?: I am quite early in my journey but I want to continue to grow, doubling my turnover year after year until I have a steady network of loyal, ideal clients and be able to scale down my role in 15 years' time by managing a team who will take care of day-day bookings.
If you could give one single piece of advice to a new start up business, what would it be?: Take risks, don't be afraid to fail. Learn from your mistakes and they will make you stronger.
What\'s the most enjoyable thing about your work?: Every day is different! I love hearing clients feedback when they return from a holiday. The excitement in their voice is priceless. I also love networking and meeting so many brilliant and interesting people.
