Memberships

We know that knowing what to expect can make networking feel much more comfortable. We’ll share the information you need ahead of your meeting wherever possible, including details about the format and what to expect. We also aim to share our meeting icebreaker question in advance, so you have time to think about your answer without being put on the spot.

Our Online Membership is £35 + VAT per month, while PRO Membership is £35 + VAT per month, plus £30 + VAT for your monthly lunch meeting — a total of £65 + VAT per month.

Membership gives you much more than a monthly meeting, with opportunities to connect through networking, workshops, Power Groups and the wider WMB and We Mean Biz communities. You’ll also have support from the WMB team to help you make connections and get the most from your membership.

There is a one-off set-up fee when you first join. Membership starts with a 12-month commitment, then continues on a rolling basis with one month’s notice, so there’s no need to recommit year after year.

No — and that’s intentional. We believe people working in the same or similar industries can create some of the best opportunities for one another. Rather than focusing on competition, WMB encourages collaboration, referrals, introductions and even working together on larger projects.

Because at WMB, it’s personal. You’re not simply given a membership and left to get on with it. Our team helps you make the right connections, points you towards opportunities and gently encourages you to get the most from the community.

Our networking is structured but relaxed, with a real focus on genuine relationships, collaboration and long-term personal and business growth. That aligns with WMB’s positioning around a warm community, intentional networking and growth rather than quick wins.

Women Mean Biz came first, created specifically to provide a more supportive approach to networking for women in business. We Mean Biz was later created to bring that same warm, no-pressure approach to a mixed-gender business community.

Today, the two communities collaborate through online meetings, workshops, Power Groups and selected social, charity and special events, giving members an even wider network of people to meet. WMB’s monthly in-person meetings remain specifically for the Women Mean Biz community.

Absolutely. We encourage first-time visitors to experience a meeting before deciding whether membership is right for them.

On the odd occasion you cannot make your group meeting (due to holidays or sickness), we ask members to find a ‘sub’ or substitute to take your place and to represent you. Your sub will need to be a local businesswoman, maybe a supplier,
client, or a friend who is also in business. Your Hosts and group will help you if you are unable to find a sub.

We encourage our members to do the ‘Member of the Month’ and share with the group a 10-minute talk or presentation about themselves and their business, which is rotated every month. It’s a fantastic opportunity for your fellow members to learn more about you, your purpose, your why, and how they can help support you. No one is forced to do something they don’t feel comfortable about, and so we will help you to build your confidence with this, so over time, you are ready to take this step. Most members end up enjoying this opportunity and say it leads to immediate enquiries and business.

YES – we really encourage this if you are a PRO member! You can visit any of our in-person meetings in addition to your regular home group meetings, and build relationships across the whole community. You will need to pay for the cost of the lunch when you book your place, unless it’s an ONLINE meeting. ALL Online meetings are included in the memberships.

This appears to depend on the membership level. PRO Membership combines in-person and online networking, giving members opportunities to connect both locally and through the wider online community.

These ARE all included in the memberships for both Online and Pro members, so nothing extra to pay, other than any refreshments you may purchase yourself for the in-person events.

We encourage our members to invite guests to our meetings, as this creates even more dynamic and vibrant meetings, increasing the opportunities for connection even further. Many members have got business as a result of a visitor coming along.
It’s really simple, share the URL link to the website or group page, and in your own
words, ask them if they’d like to come along and why you think it could be good for

them. Social media is a great way to spread the word, so please do follow us and
share with anyone who you think would benefit from coming along to one of our
meetings.

If you want to develop & hone your speaking skills, then becoming a Keynote Speaker in our meetings is a great way to showcase your expertise and knowledge and build your speaking confidence. It also builds trust in you, increases your
visibility and gives you a platform to showcase you and your business. There is an application process, so please email our Membership Manager Leanne Matthews (admin@womenmeanbiz.co.uk) for more information.
